Crocheted round coasters are the perfect beginner-friendly project: small, quick, and practical. They add a handmade touch to your home while protecting your tables from cups and glasses. This pattern is great for practicing in the round and staggered increases. Today, I’m sharing my simple crochet round coaster pattern you can whip up in under 30 minutes!

Materials:
- Any Worsted Weight yarn
- 3.5mm/ E Hook, 5.5mm/ I Hook, Needle for weaving in ends
- No Gauge
- Ch at beginning of each row does not count as stitch.
Abbreviations (US Terms):
- MC- Magic Circle or Magic Ring
- ch-chain
- sc- single crochet
- sl st – slip stitch
- lsc- long single crochet
Pattern
Start with a MC Ch 1, 6sc inside MC sl st into first sc
Round 1: ch1, 2sc in each sc, sl st into beginning sc (12sc)
Round 2: ch1 *1sc, 2sc in next stitch* Repeat from *to* to end of round, sl st into beginning sc (18sc)
Round 3: ch1* 1sc in next two stitches, 2sc in next stitch* Repeat from *to* to end of round, sl st into beginning sc (24sc)
Round 4: ch1* 1sc, 2sc in next stitch, 1 sc in next two stitches* Repeat *to* to end of round, sl st into beginning sc (30sc)
Round 5: ch1* 1sc in the next 4 stitches, 2sc in next stitch * Repeat *to* to end of round, sl st in beginning sc (36sc)
Round 6: ch1* 1sc, 2sc in next stitch, 1sc in next 4 stitches* Repeat *to* to end of round, sl st in beginning sc (42sc)
Round 7: ch1, *1sc in next 4 stitches, 2 sc in next stitch, 1sc in next 2 stitches*, repeat *to* to end of round, sl st in beginning sc (48st)
Round 8: ch 1 * 2sc in next stitch, 1 sc in next 7 stitches *. Repeat *to* to end of round, sl st in beginning sc (54sts)
Switch to 5.5mm I/9 Hook
Round 9 Edging Row: ch1 * 1lc in next st 1sc in next 2 st* Repeat *to* to end of round. Sl st into beginning st and fasten off.
Finishing:
Weave in ends
Block if it doesn’t want to lay flat or if you just want a more finished look.
Finished product should measure 5.5 inches across.
